Rwanda Organic Agriculture Movement

Rwanda Organic Agricultural Movement (ROAM) is a national umbrella organization for individuals and entities engaged in organic agriculture and related activities in Rwanda. It was established in 2007 and was legally registered in 2014 by the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB). ROAM members comprise of farmers, processors, exporters, importers, and service providers involved in the cultivation, processing, and marketing of various organic products. ROAM's key activities are related to raise awareness on benefits of organic, build the capacity of organic value chain actors, create market linkages, networking with like-minded organizations, lobby and advocate for enabling policies and strategies to advance the organic sector in Rwanda. ROAM as other National Organic Agriculture Movements (NOAMs) in East Africa, is a custodian of the organic trade mark KILIMOHAI recognised in Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi and Kenya. ROAM is working tirelessly to develop the organic market at national level by promoting the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) as well the international market using the third party certification.
